Every year for Christmas, I put together a slideshow that runs on our living room television. The slideshow consists of Christmas music and random photos of our family that I have taken throughout the years.
There is one photo (or series of photos) that gets funnier each year. In 1997, Susan’s family had a Christmas gathering down in Bradley, Oklahoma. While we were there, our nieces and nephew were outside playing on a tire swing. Here is a picture of my niece Jessica swinging on the tire swing.
Moments later, Jessica fell off the swing and it proceeded to hit her in the face. Then, I took this picture.
That picture gets ’em rolling every year — even Jessica. What’s even funnier is, Jessica has an uncanny resemblance to the Bee Girl from Blind Melon’s hit single, “No Rain”.
It’s hard to see it there, but in the video there’s a part where Bee Girl has been laughed at and rejected and she starts crying and it looks just like that picture of Jessica crying. Of course when I mentioned it at our Christmas party, no one knew who the Bee Girl was. I’m really not that old, people.
When I clicked the link to this blog, I was hoping it was about the blind melon bee girl! You know how to deliver.
It’s not that they don’t remember, it’s just that when they think of Blind Melon, they feel old for remembering it as a band of the early 90’s. Lolz
I immediately pictured the blind melon girl. I was in high school when Blind Melon was around.
