Robb Sherwin, programmer-extraordinaire, has released Cryptozookeeper, a game five years in the making.
Cryptozookeeper is an Interactive Fiction game. I would say “text adventure,” but it’s a lot more than that. There are pictures of the characters you meet, the places you visit, and the crptids you create by mixing and matching DNA samples found throughout the game. There’s even background music, to set the mood.
And best of all, the game is free. The download is 500 megs, but worth it. If you like old school text adventures and/or playing god by creating new creatures using DNA samples and letting them fight in the back alley of a bar, then this is the game for you.
