Tricky the Tracker, Up For Sale

I finally decided to put the Tracker up for sale today. It was a really fun car to drive and I’m sure it will make a really fun car for someone else. It’s funny, I always figured when I put it up for sale I would get tons of interest from teenagers looking for a fun car to drive. That was before gas prices shot up this year. Most of the interest I’ve received so far has been either from retired individuals who are looking for a car to tow behind their RV, or people simply looking for an affordable vehicle to commute to and from work. It will be interesting to see who ends up with the vehicle.

Yesterday I wrote “FOR SALE” in shoe polish along with the price ($2000 OBO) and my phone number on the windows. Then I told Susan I was going to drive down the street and wash it. After washing it, it was so nice out yesterday that I decided to take the top off and drive over to the lake to take some pictures. After driving to the lake I decided to drive around Oklahoma City, hoping someone would see the for sale sign. The “car wash” ended up being a two hour detour! Oh well, at least I had a good time driving around!

I listed the car this morning on Craig’s List and put signs in the windows. If the car doesn’t sell by this weekend then I’ll also be listing it on eBay and in the local paper. I’m sure I’ll sell it almost immediately when I list it in those places, but Craig’s List is free so I’m going to try it first — selling a vehicle via eBay costs $40 to list and and additional $40 if it sells.
