177 updates!

Believe it or not, over the past two days I have added 177 updates to my blog. Where are they? We’ll, you’ll have to scroll back in time to read them.

While digging through some of my old backups I found earlier versions of my website, dating all the way back to 2002. None of these were in WordPress format. Some of the updates were in an Access database, which was part of a freeware blogging-software I had installed. Others were simply stored in a text file as part of a “web-update script” I wrote many moons ago.

These entries, ranging from December 2002 through August 2005 have been added to this site as well. There are old posts covering Mason’s bout with pneumonia, the death of my grandma, my trip to the Microsoft campus, Hurricane Katrina, and more. The only entries I did not transfer over were links to pictures that have since been removed. Once those posts were removed, I was left with 177 entries, all of which had to be re-entered into WordPress by hand. Was it worth it? Probably not for anyone else. I can’t imagine any of you wanting to scroll back and read what I was doing five years ago. For me though, it was worth it. I enjoyed re-reading some of my old entries and reliving some of those memories. From a borderline OCD organizer, I felt compelled to have all my old entries “all in the same spot,” and so here they are.
