So last week, we decided to fix our pool. Our pool (aka Camp Anthrax, aka Shrek’s Swamp) has been nothing but an eye sore since the day we moved in. The previous home owners neglected the pool to the point of destruction. The filter doesn’t work. The pump works sometimes. All the hoses are bad. All the connections are bad. The liner is bad. The pool is bad.
Local pool companies want $700-$1000 to install a new liner. New liners cost $200 off of eBay. We decided to buy a new liner, and try and install it last weekend. After two long days of spinning our wheels and getting sun burnt, we gave up. We decided to regroup and come up with another plan.
The new plan ended up being buying a new pool, which comes with (of course) a new liner, a new pump, and a new filter. If we can sell the old stuff, great. If not, oh well. Pool should be installed this weekend. The next time you come over, bring a swimsuit — and your checkbook. We’ll be accepting donations towards the pool fund throughout the season!
