Weekend Summary

Howdy! Hope everybody had a good weekend! I had a pretty long one. Here’s the quick version of what I did this weekend.

Saturday morning was “Onion Burger Day” in El Reno, Oklahoma. Dad and I took one car, Susan and Mason took the other. Even at noon it was only got up to about 40 degrees Saturday afternoon. We each had an obligitory onion burger and braved the winds to look at the classic cars that were out on display.

Saturday afternoon, my friend Stephen asked me if I wanted to go eat at Santa Fe. We went and both had the New York Strip. It was okay, but not great. After dinner, we went back to his house and watched boxing in Showtime.

Sunday morning I drove to Norman and had lunch with Justin at Mazzio’s. Justin drove up over the weekend to help his parents with some computer problems. I ended up scoring their old computer out of the deal which is great, as I needed one for my video jukebox I’m planning for the gameroom.

And, speaking of the gameroom, I ended up winning Karate Champ on eBay. Karate Champ was the first one on one fighting video game. After sending a few e-mails to the seller, I ended up buying several other games. With help from my dad and my friend Andy, we picked all the games up Sunday afternoon.

From left to right that’s Robocop, Rampart (in an old Gauntlet cabinet), Karate Champ, and a Vs. Excitebike/Super Mario Brothers cabinet. I ended up paying $100 each for each game. Given the condition of a few of the games, I probably didn’t get a great deal, but it’ll give me a few projects to work on this summer.
