Whirlwind!

Last Thursday night was Skate Night for the kids. After work we ran home, ate, changed clothes, and went to the skating rink for a few hours. After we got home, I upped my exercise routine and walked two miles instead of one. I was a little sore, but figured I’d be okay as long as I was able to rest a bit at work on Friday.

Friday at work, I moved cubicles from the 2nd floor to the 1st. That meant disconnecting/reconnecting all my computer equipment, packing up all my papers, climbing around on the floor to unplug/replug everything, etc. And, after reconnecting everything in my new cubicle, we decided to reconfigure our cubes, which meant gutting the cube and reconnecting everything a second time. Friday night, all four of us zoomed home, ate, and headed out to catch a Thunder game. Everyone was so wiped out that we only made it to half time, but the kids seem to enjoy it the same no matter how long we stay.

Saturday, the four of us attended two birthday parties — the kids’ cousin Hunter turned 1, and our friend’s son Sawyer turned 2. Hunter’s birthday party was outside at a local park, It was a little windy and chilly but the kids had a great time regardless. Sawyer’s birthday party was inside at a local gymnastics place and there were a ton of activities for the kids to do, including tumbling, playing with a parachute, and ear ripping. I don’t know if ear ripping was on the actual schedule, but Morgan managed to do it by ramming her ear into the side of the parallel bars. She ended up with a 1/2 inch cut on the back of her ear and a smaller one on the front. It’s amazing how much ears bleed. Even despite that, the kids had a great time flipping and flopping around. After Sawyer’s party ended, we met my dad for dinner for some Chinese food.

Sunday morning, Mason and I piled in the truck and drove to Dallas to visit my friend Justin. After we arrived, the three of us visited Ikea (Mason and I have never seen one before) — what a place!! After that we headed over to the mall and played games at Gameworks, hung out at the skatepark, and did a lot of walking. We had lunch at Ikea (Swedish meatballs!) and dinner at a hole in the wall pizza place that served giant slices of pizza by the slice.

Running late for work so I’ll have to post pictures later. Looking forward to work so I can sit down and not move for a few hours!!

I’ll be in Grapevine for the pinball festival this coming Saturday and my wife will definately drag me to IKEA during our stay. If we are anywhere near Dallas we stop in there.
