There’s a reason the first line to our state’s song describes Oklahoma as a place where “wind comes sweeping down the plain.” Yesterday’s high was 78 degrees. Today’s is 45 — and with the windchill, they’re saying it feels like it’s in the 20’s. Working in the garage last night, I wore shorts. If I go back out there tonight, I’ll need gloves and a jacket. Weird. At least it’s supposed to get back up into the 60’s this weekend.
I’ve given up on finding my Amiga monitor. I found one in a thrift store last week, but didn’t know what it was and left it there. When I got home, I realized it was exactly what I was needing! The following morning I went back, but it was already gone. I’ve been back 5 times the past 7 days, in hopes that (for some reason) it was pulled back into the back or moved or hidden or SOMETHING, but it doesn’t appear so. In the two hours I left it sitting there, someone bought it. I’ve even scoured the other thrift stores in town owned by the same company, hoping that maybe it got transferred from one store to another. That makes no sense at all, but that’s how desperate I was. I definitely learned a lesson on that one.
The “three generations” (my daughter, my wife, and her mother) are still in Vegas. Mason and I had dinner last night at Taco Bueno. Mason only ate half of his cheese quesadilla (which he normally loves), but made up for it with an extra big bowl of Cookie Crisp this morning.
Last night I told Mason, “Make sure you go pee pee before bed time, because daddy doesn’t know how to do laundry and you would have dirty sheets all week.”
His response? “Dad, you just take them off the bed, and put them in the washer, then put them in the dryer, then put them back on the bed. DUH.”
Yeah. Duh.
