Happy St. Pattys!

On St. Patrick’s Day, the holiest of all Irish holidays, instead of drinking green beer I was stuck sitting in class from 6pm-10pm. Yes, college officially has begun. One year from today, if all goes well, I’ll be graduating from college with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science; something I should have done ten years ago. And, hey, if things don’t go well, around that same time I’ll be trying to figure out a way to pay Southern Nazarene University $15,000 for a degree I didn’t complete. Let’s shoot for the first scenario.

I took a Stress Quiz for class and scored pretty much near the top. I also scored right near the top on the Work Burn-Out Quiz. Related? Don’t know. Susan and I have would really like to work for ourselves someday. I don’t know if we’ll ever be able to make that happen, but I think we’re going to try. Lots of phrases, like “you’ll never know until you try” and “it’s better to have tried and failed than to have never tried at all”, don’t really mean much to you until you start making decisions that will affect your life, for better or for worse.

I moved the gumball machine into the game room and filled one of the containers with a $5 bag of Skittles from Sams. I put a penny into the machine, turned the handle, and about a third of the bag came out. I think maybe it was designed for gumballs. I knew more than one would come out but I wasn’t expecting a hundred or so.
