Friday night for Susan’s birthday dinner we went to the New Yellow Rose Theater to see their Dinner with the Rat Pack show. Tickets included dinner and the show. The show opened with Marilyn Monroe singing several of her classic songs. As we ate dinner, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis, Jr. all took turns crooning. Through desert, we were treated to a re-enactment of the Rat Pack’s classic Sands Casino performances.
Saturday our families got together got hamburgers, Pioneer Pies, and swimming. Saturday evening was Bean Supper in Mustang. Mason got to ride on a fire truck and sit in a helicopter. We all ate beans and hot dogs and had a good time until the rain came. After a quick stop by Matt Willrath’s for a cold one, we headed back home. Susan and Mason went back after the rain ended to watch the fireworks.
Sunday, I drove to Sulphur Springs, TX, to pick up four more arcade games. Along the way I picked up Justin in Dallas and we had a good time. Lunch was at Crystal’s Pizza, so we got to watch Popeye cartoons while we enjoyed pizza. It rained the whole way there and back, and after loading four games onto the trailer, we were soaked. Dinner was at a really good Chinese buffet. After that, it was back home. 550 miles in about 18 hours.
This morning, Susan left for Washington D.C. on a work trip, and will be back Wednesday.
