I Lost My Voice

And no, I don’t mean in some poetic, muse sense; I mean I literally lost my voice earlier this week. I started feeling bad on Sunday, felt like crap on Monday, felt like worse crap on Tuesday, and back to “just crap” today. Over the weekend my throat started burning and I thought drinking a lot of water would fix it, but it didn’t. I slept a ton yesterday, and am feeling a little better today. Truth be known if it were just an average week I would definitely have stayed home yesterday and probably today as well, but the fact of the matter is we simply have too much stuff to do at work and not enough time to do it. No rest for the wicked …

  • Rob,

Hey, long time no talk! First. about the whole losing your voice thing, you’re about the 5th person I know that this has happened to in the last week. One in California, a few here in Vegas, and on eastward.

I was on the interwebs today and noticed that you had finished your book a while back. Congrats, that’s awesome. I read some excerpts on Google (noticed my name in there… :)) and it brought back a lot of old memories… Not just the VDS stuff. I have a very particular memory of being awake at 2 in the morning in 7th grade on a school night and being logged into a C=64 BBS, working on my sig in ascii. My mom busted into my room and started yelling at me that my dad was on call and I was tying up the phone line. Hopefully no patients were effected by my shennanigans. My sig turned out totally sweet though. ;)

Anyhow, congrats on the book again, and if you’re ever out in Vegas, be sure to give me a yell.

    Peter
